I attended boarding school and college in Guadalajara where I majored in Psychology. I then returned to my hometown where I became an elementary school teacher. I taught for several year, then moved to the United States after I married my husband. I have been a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary school for over twenty years now. I specialize in teaching children who have recently moved to the United States how to read and write in English so that they are able to integrate into an age appropriate classroom. My daughter recently studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. Although I knew I was going to miss my daughter, I have always encouraged her to travel and see as much of the world as she can. I had no problem keeping in touch with my daughter while she was in Europe, she would call me on a regular basis and I was excited to hear about her travels around Europe. I encourage parents to support their child's interest in studying abroad, it is an experience that they will help them grow in many ways.
